Elizabeth&Chase’s day at The Barn on Stoney Hill in Cornell, Wisconsin was the perfect ending to our 2016 wedding season.
I don’t know about you, but autumn weddings have won a place in my heart.
They’re full of deep earth tones and perfect vibrant pops of color, marked with a gentle crispness in the air, and have a cozy romantic feel that just simply does it for me.
And then you add a to-die-for barn venue surrounded by fields and peak-color trees… and it just doesn’t get much better than that in my book.
The day began with the house full of girls and curling irons and anticipation. Elizabeth got into her simple and stunning white pleated dress (WITH POCKETS–yesss please!), and walked through the brisk autumn air to see her groom for the first time. Chase’s reaction was timeless and heartfelt, as his breath was taken away by his bride and tears filled his eyes.
Their afternoon ceremony was in the barn full of loved ones and friends who cheered them on as they vowed themselves to one another– to love and serve and journey through life together by His grace and with His help– and became husband and wife.
There were so many intentional details that just beautifully filled their venue and day, and the girls’ grey dresses matched with deep cranberry red accents created such a rich and sophisticated color palette. Their reception tables were brightened with beautiful farmer’s market flowers from the morning of, darling little succulents doubled as the table place cards and wedding favors, and a stunning naked cake graced their dessert table with dark red chrysanthemums for beautiful contrast.
And in perfect end of the day fashion, we went out as the sun was bending low and the two took their first husband&wife adventure of running through the fields to celebrate and soak in the sunset on the best day they could have asked for. It truly could not have been more wonderful.
This is only the beginning– here’s to more adventures and sunsets to come.
Enjoy this retelling of their day!
