These two just make my heart sing.
Meet my brother and his darling new wife, Logan. They met in Zambia, Africa where they were both wholeheartedly following Jesus and pouring their hearts out– and after he beautifully pursued her from three different continents and then proposed at sunrise on the beach (you better believe I’m one proud sister!!)– they were married in the remote Pecos Mountains at an elevation of 9,000 feet. You should have seen the road you had to drive up to make it there… very fitting for a missionary couple I’d say. ;)
Their day was simple, naturally rustic and heartfelt. Their stunning location and beautiful setting created a ceremony venue decorated by God. Logan has some amazing florist skills and put together the bouquets herself, her maid of honor created the perfect handwritten welcome sign (which Logan painted the flowers on–the girl is gifted), and her champagne tinted dress looked flawless on her. Danny wore our great-grandfather’s handkerchief as his pocket square and rocked our late granddad’s pocket watch.
Their morning ceremony was centered on covenant– the beauty of God’s covenant with man and what that means for this new covenant between the two as man and wife in displaying His love to this world. There was hardly a dry eye in those mountains as Danny saw his bride for the first time as she came down the aisle and then vowed their hearts and lives to one another.
They had a delicious lunch reception (all catered by Logan’s father and family) in the lodge and then shared their first dance out on the dock overlooking the pond. Guests were encouraged to play yard games, go fishing or even go take a hike and enjoy the scenery.
Before the two snuck away to their honeymoon, we made sure to go explore the mountains for some gorgeous romantic portraits– it’s not every day that you randomly stumble across an old vintage truck on the top of a mountain, and I can honestly say I’ve never had horses wander by and try and eat the bride’s bouquet during photos!!
It was incredible. I will surely never forget this day.
And to think, their adventures will only get better.
Congratulations, you two.<3
